Resort Activities
Animal Kingdom Lodge is located in a 43-acre wildlife preserve, and is accessible only by bus transportation or private car. Driving in to the lodge, you’ll pass roaming giraffes and you’ll feel like you are arriving at a remote African Safari Lodge. If you get cold sweats at the thought of being trapped at a remote lodge with only your family to keep you company, you’ll be happy to know that Animal Kingdom Lodge has one of the most comprehensive activity schedules of all the resorts. You can watch while cast members feed the animals, or use night vision goggles to view the animals in their Savannas at night. There are cultural activities, like the nightly storytelling around the fire pit at Arusha Rock. There are arts and crafts, pool games, outdoor movies, and so much more – there is always something going on around the Lodge. And when you’re ready to go to the parks, they’re a short ride away!
Animal Kingdom Lodge is geographically close to the Animal Kingdom park, so the bus ride is exceptionally short to that park. The Animal Kingdom busses make one stop on the way back to the resort from Animal Kingdom, at Blizzard Beach water park, which means you also have a short trip to one water park and one miniature golf course – Winter Summerland. The rest of the parks and entertainment areas are very accessible to guests of Animal Kingdom lodge, as well, with Disney busses running on a regular schedule all day and late into the night.
