Resort Pools
The feature pool at the Beach and Yacht Club resorts is legendary. Stormalong Bay is a 3-acre mini-water park, complete with Lazy River and “Ship Wreck” pool slide. The sand bottomed pool is hugely popular with guests of all ages. Look for the floating sign that says “Sinking Sand.” The pool vents are in that location, and every 5 to 10 minutes the sand will loosen and anyone standing there will sink to their knees. Quite a surprise for those not expecting it!
If you’re swimming in the evening, you’ll be able to see the high fireworks from Illuminations at Epcot from Stormalong Bay.
While Beach and Yacht Club Resorts and the Beach Club Villas share a feature pool, each resort has their own quiet pool, for an alternative to the excitement of Stormalong Bay.
Arcades
Teenaged guests from all three resorts have a central gathering place in The Lafferty Place Arcade. Open 24 hours a day, the game room is located in the Yacht and Beach Club common areas.
Order the Kitchen Sink
Drop in to Beaches and Cream, a 50’s style soda fountain at the Beach Club. They serve light meals, but their specialty is ice cream. Want to get noticed? Order the giant Kitchen Sink Sundae. It’s made with eight scoops of ice cream and a whole can of whipped cream, and its delivery will be announced with flashing red lights and a hollering wait staff!
Snacks around the resort
The Yacht and Beach Club Resorts offer the refillable mug. Once you purchase the mug, you can enjoy unlimited free refills from the restaurant at the Beach Club Marketplace or Hurricane Hanna’s, or you can request a refill at Beaches and Cream for the rest of your stay. Whether you are using dining plan snack credits or spending money, there are many snacks available around the resort for less than $5.
Cruise around on Crescent Lake
Rent a pontoon boat or a Sea Raycer on The Yacht Club side at the Lakeside Marina. Any teenager can captain a Sea Raycer and cruise around toward Disney’s Hollywood Studios on the canal. (With a parent’s permission, of course.) The minimum age to drive a Sea Raycer from this marina is 12 years old.
Fishing Excursions
From the Yacht and Beach Club, you can book a fishing excursion that will take you in to Epcot before park opening to fish in the World Showcase Lagoon. You can get some fantastic photos of you and your catch in front of the World Showcase Pavilions! All fishing is catch and release, and World Showcase Lagoon and Crescent Lake have a reputation for big fish.
While away the day with outdoor activities
Play a match on the lakeside Sand Volleyball Court, or play bingo and pool games with the Cast Members. There’s always something going on!
Visit the Boardwalk
The Boardwalk Entertainment Area is right outside the resort, and offers so much to do any time of day. You can rent a Surrey Bike and cruise around Crescent Lake or shop and get a slice of Pizza from the Boardwalk Pizza Window. In the evenings, the Boardwalk is lit up beautifully and bustling with activity. There are street entertainers, carnival-style games and food stands. You can watch the fireworks from Illuminations on the bridge that connects the Beach Club and Boardwalk Inn. If you’re looking to expand your entertainment options, you can easily walk to the Boardwalk Inn or Swan and Dolphin resorts.
Catch a flick
All the Epcot resorts share a campfire and outdoor movie, and this Movie Under the Stars is hosted at the Yacht and Beach Club. A large movie screen is set up next to the “Ship Wreck” slide at Stormalong Bay. You can toast marshmallows, and watch the newest Disney releases or old classics, depending on the night. At the same time, you can take in the view of the Boardwalk with the lights reflecting on the water, and watch the Friendship Boats come and go.
Try for a hole-in-one
There are two miniature golf courses at Walt Disney World, and one of them is a short walk from the Yacht and Beach Club resorts.
Hit the parks
You have easy access to two parks, and both of them are hot spots for teens! If you’re up for a bit of a walk, you can take a path to Epcot or Hollywood Studios. There are also Friendship Boats that circle Crescent Lake, bringing resort guests to the parks.
