Resort Pools
Shades of Green has two pools – the Millpond Pool and the Magnolia Pool. The Magnolia pool has a hot tub, but it’s restricted to guests 16 and over.
Arcade
There are two game rooms at Shades of Green. The arcade is located on the first floor of the Magnolia Wing, and has an air hockey table, pool table and the latest video games. A second game room, called the sports bar, has a pool table and large televisions. The sports bar is not age restricted, so guests of all ages are welcome.
Get some Ice Cream
For a sweet treat, visit “America, The Ice Cream Parlor.” This 1950’s-themed ice cream parlor, serves handmade ice cream.
Get a facial
At the Magnolia Spa, there are special spa packages designed for younger guests.
Hit the tennis Courts
Two lighted tennis courts are available 24 hours a day, but you need to bring your own racquets to play.
Hit the links
There are two championship golf courses and one 9-hole executive course right outside the door to the resort. Clubs can be rented from the Pro Shop.
Internet Access
There are Game Kiosks in the lobby, and they’re available 24 hours a day. In addition to games, you can use them to surf the internet and check e-mail.
Mini Drive-time
At the coin-operated Mini-Marina, you can steer miniature remote control boats, and there’s an outdoor miniature Four Wheel Monster Truck course.
Snacks around the resort
The Shades of Green Resort does not offer a refillable mug or the Disney Dining Plan. If you have a little spending money, there are a variety of snacks, from nachos to ice cream, available around the resort for under $5.
Extra Magic Hours
Morning and Evening Extra Magic Hours give onsite guests the ability to enter a certain park before official park opening or stay after a specific park is closed to offsite guests. This benefit is automatic for all Disney Hotels. While Disney doesn’t own Shades of Green, there is a special agreement between Disney and the resort that allows the resort’s guests to participate.
Walk to the Polynesian
Shades of Green is not directly on the monorail, but it’s a short walk to the Polynesian Resort and Transportation and Ticket Center. This gives you more transportation options when it comes to the parks and resort hopping than just the resort bus transportation.
