Boardwalk Entertainment Area
While local teens flock to Downtown Disney for it’s busy excitement, the Boardwalk definitely has more of a “resort vacation” feeling. Friendship boats sail Crescent Lake continually, providing transportation to both Epcot and Hollywood Studios and stopping at each resort along the way. Shops and restaurants line the Boardwalk. There are daytime diversions at the Boardwalk, like watercraft rentals or a ride in a surrey bike.
Sports lovers will enjoy eating at the ESPN Club at the Boardwalk Hotel. If there’s a sporting event happening that you want to watch at this sports themed bar and grill, you’ll want to get there early and line up for a table. Even when there’s no big game happening, there will be something showing on the 108 square foot television screen, or you’ll be entertained during your meal with sports trivia contests.
Teens often start to stroll over from their resorts in the late afternoon, and groups gather on the grassy area between the lobby of the Boardwalk Hotel and the boat dock. As it gets dark, the lights of the Boardwalk come on, and street entertainers start making appearances. There are jugglers and magicians, carnival-style games and food stands to entertain you, and miniature golf is a short walk away at Fantasia Gardens. Outdoor movies are held nightly next to Stormalong Bay at the Yacht and Beach Club.
