Frontierland
Two of the parks’ main headlining attractions are in Frontierland, and you’ll find a lot of other things to do in this part of the park. Parades begin and end here, and a group of musicians travel through regularly: The Notorious Banjo Brothers and Bob (the tuba player) sing cowboy melodies and bluegrass, and anything in between. They even take requests – ask them to play Iron Man!
This part of the park is fun any time of day, but we suggest that you be sure to revisit Frontierland night.
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Ride a runaway mine train through a gold-mining town. Enjoy small dips and fast turns, and the little details thrown in by the Disney Imagineers, like the audio-animatronic goat with the stick of dynamite in his mouth and the smell of sulphur as you pass by the pools. If you only have time to ride this one once, try to do it at night!
The best way to minimize your wait time is for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad is to use Fastpass, or ride in the last hour or so before the park closes.
Splash Mountain
Splash Mountain is a flume ride with a five-story plunge. The ride is over half a mile long. Request a seat in the front or on the right side of the log boat if you want to get really wet! (The splash is adjusted based on temperature – on hot days guests will get a lot wetter than riders on cooler days or evenings.)
Using Fastpass is your best bet for a short wait, but you may find shorter waits during the afternoon or evening parade. Right after park opening or right before park closing works too, but this might not be comfortable on cooler days.
Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade
If you like arcade fun, the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade will be a fun place to go if you have a little extra time.
